Break Statement
Python break Statement
Python break statement is used to terminate the current loop and resumes execution at the next statement, just like the traditional break statement in C.
The most common use for Python break statement is when some external condition is triggered requiring a hasty exit from a loop. The break statement can be used in both Python
while
and for
loops. If you are using nested loops in Python, the break statement stops the execution of the innermost loop and start executing the next line of code after the block.
Syntax
The syntax for a break statement in Python is as follows
break

Example
for letter in 'Python': # First Example if letter == 'h': break print ('Current Letter :', letter) var = 10 # Second Examplewhile var > 0: print ('Current variable value :', var) var = var -1 if var == 5: break
print ("Good bye!")
When the above code is executed, it produces the following result
Current Letter : PCurrent Letter : yCurrent Letter : tCurrent variable value : 10Current variable value : 9Current variable value : 8Current variable value : 7Current variable value : 6Good bye!
